BingX KYC Verification 2026: Levels, Documents, Limits & Fixes
How BingX KYC works in 2026: what each level unlocks, accepted documents, approval times, why submissions fail and what you can still do without verification.
Identity verification is the step most people want to skip and the step BingX will not let you skip any more. Since June 2024 an unverified account on BingX is effectively read-only: no deposits, no trading, and a withdrawal-only allowance for whatever is already in it. That makes KYC the first real gate between signing up and doing anything useful, so it is worth getting right on the first attempt.
This guide covers the current verification levels and what each unlocks, the documents BingX accepts, how long approval takes in practice, the specific reasons submissions get rejected, and what the privacy trade-off looks like. If you have not created an account yet, start with the registration guide so the referral code is in place before you verify; it cannot be added afterwards.
The KYC levels and what each one unlocks
BingX has simplified its tiers over the last two years. The help centre now describes two states: unverified and Advanced KYC. Older accounts that had completed the previous "basic" verification before 13 June 2024 were automatically upgraded to Advanced, which is why you may still see references to a middle tier in older forum posts.
| Level | Deposit | Trading | 24h withdrawal cap | Fiat / P2P | Launchpad & bonus tasks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unverified | Not allowed | Not allowed | 20,000 USDT equivalent | Not allowed | Not allowed |
| Advanced KYC | Unlimited daily and monthly | Spot, futures, copy trading, bots | 5,000,000 USDT equivalent | Allowed | Allowed |
Two caveats from BingX's own wording. First, "verification levels and benefits may vary in certain regions", so the numbers on your own product page override anything written here. Second, in some regions and for certain fiat channels BingX or its payment partner may request an additional proof of address (a utility bill or bank statement dated within the last three months). This is not a separate tier in the help centre, but it is real, and it is what people usually mean when they talk about "advanced" verification requiring an address document. Bonus tiers in the welcome rewards programme also require the full Advanced status.
The practical takeaway: there is no meaningful "light" verification path any more. Plan to do the full ID-plus-selfie check before you fund the account.
Documents BingX accepts
You need one government-issued photo ID and access to a camera for a live selfie. Accepted documents:
- Passport — accepted from every supported country and the least likely to be rejected, because the machine-readable zone is easy for the automated checker to parse.
- National ID card — accepted where issued. Both sides are usually required.
- Driving licence — accepted in most regions, but not all. If the dropdown does not offer it for your country, that is your answer.
- Residence permit — accepted in some jurisdictions for non-citizens; availability depends on the country selected.
The document must be current, physically intact and issued by the country you select as your nationality. Photocopies, screenshots of a scanned ID and digital ID apps are rejected. The name, date of birth and document number you type must match the document exactly, including middle names where they appear.
Step by step: completing BingX verification
The flow is nearly identical on the web and in the BingX app. The app is usually smoother because it uses the phone camera directly and handles the liveness check better than a laptop webcam.
- Log in and open Account > Identity Verification (in the app: profile icon > Verification).
- Select your country of residence and nationality. This determines which documents are offered and whether the region is supported at all.
- Enter your legal name and date of birth exactly as printed on the ID. Use the Latin transliteration shown on the document if it has one.
- Choose the document type and photograph the front (and back if prompted). Lay it flat on a dark, matte surface, keep all four corners in frame and avoid direct light that causes glare.
- Complete the liveness check: the camera will ask you to face forward and turn your head or blink. Remove glasses and hats, and make sure your face is evenly lit.
- If prompted, take a selfie holding the document beside your face. Both your face and the document text must be readable in the same frame.
- Submit and wait. The status on the verification page changes to "Under review", then to "Verified" or "Rejected" with a reason.
Once approved, deposits, trading and P2P open immediately, and the withdrawal cap rises to the Advanced limit. You can then go straight to the deposit guide.
How long BingX KYC takes
BingX quotes 2 to 10 minutes for automated review, and in our experience that is accurate for clean submissions from supported countries. The identity provider matches the document template, reads the fields with OCR, compares the selfie to the ID photo and runs a sanctions screen. All of that is automated.
Delays happen when the submission drops into manual review. Common triggers:
| Situation | Typical wait |
|---|---|
| Clean passport submission, supported country | 2–10 minutes |
| ID card with unusual template or low-quality photo | 1–6 hours |
| Name mismatch or age flag needing human review | 6–48 hours |
| Peak periods (major listing, promotion launch) | Add several hours |
| Resubmission after rejection | Back of the queue, so plan for hours |
If you are still pending after 48 hours, open a ticket from the help centre with your UID. Do not submit a second application while the first is pending; duplicate submissions tend to make the queue longer, not shorter.
Why KYC fails on BingX (and how to fix each case)
Rejections are frustrating mostly because the reason given is short. Here is what the usual messages actually mean.
Blurry, cropped or glaring photo. By far the most common reason. The OCR could not read a field, or the checker could not see all four corners. Fix: retake in daylight, no flash, document flat, phone parallel to the surface. Check the preview before submitting and zoom in on the smallest text.
Name mismatch. The name typed in step 3 does not match the document. Typical causes are a missing middle name, a transliterated surname spelled differently, or a married name on one record and a maiden name on the other. Fix: type exactly what the document shows, including all given names, and use the document's own Latin spelling.
Document expired or not accepted. Even a document that expired last week fails. Fix: use a valid document, and if your only current ID is a type not listed for your country, a passport is the safest fallback.
Selfie does not match. Heavy shadow, a face mask, sunglasses, or a photo of a photo. Fix: plain background, face fully lit, nothing covering it, and complete the liveness prompts slowly.
Restricted country. If your nationality or residence is on BingX's blocked list, the submission is rejected and cannot be appealed. This includes the USA and its territories, United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, Netherlands, Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China and a set of sanctioned states. The full list is in the safety review. Trying to route around this with a VPN and a borrowed document is account fraud; BingX can freeze the balance when it notices, and it does notice at withdrawal time.
Duplicate identity. One person, one account. If the document has already been used on another BingX account, the new one is rejected. Fix: recover the original account through support rather than opening a second.
Age. You must be 18 or older. There is no workaround.
What you can do on BingX without KYC
Very little, and less than a couple of years ago. An unverified account can:
- Log in, browse markets and use the demo (paper) trading account.
- Withdraw crypto that is already in the account, up to 20,000 USDT equivalent per 24 hours.
- Open support tickets and manage security settings.
It cannot deposit, trade spot or futures, follow lead traders, use bots, access P2P or claim any of the new-user rewards. If you were hoping for a no-KYC exchange, BingX is not one, and neither are Bybit, OKX or Binance at this point; the Bybit comparison covers how their verification requirements line up.
Privacy notes worth reading before you upload anything
Handing a passport scan and a face video to any company deserves a moment of thought. A few points that are specific to BingX:
- Who holds the data. BingX uses a third-party identity verification provider to process the document and selfie, and states in its privacy policy that verification data is retained for as long as required by anti-money-laundering rules, which in most jurisdictions means five years after the relationship ends. Assume it is retained, not deleted.
- Who can request it. BingX's registered entities (AUSTRAC in Australia, FCIS in Lithuania) are subject to lawful requests from regulators and law enforcement in those jurisdictions. That is the trade-off with any registered exchange.
- What BingX will never ask for. Support will never ask you to send ID documents by email, Telegram or a chat link. Phishing crews impersonating "BingX KYC team" are common; verification only happens inside the logged-in account or app.
- Reduce the blast radius. Use a unique email for the exchange, enable 2FA before you verify, and do not reuse a password. If the account is ever compromised, the attacker has your identity documents as well as your funds.
- Right to erasure. In some jurisdictions you can request deletion of personal data after closing the account, but AML retention rules generally override this for verification records. Do not expect a full wipe.
None of this is unique to BingX; it applies to every exchange that takes verification seriously. Our BingX review weighs the regulatory picture in more depth.
Before you start: a short checklist
- Account created with the referral code entered during sign-up (see the referral code guide; support will not add it later).
- 2FA switched on.
- A valid passport or ID card, physically in hand.
- Good lighting and a phone camera.
- Your name entered exactly as printed on the document.
Do those five things and the whole process typically takes less time than reading this article. Create a BingX account with code PENDING if you are starting from scratch, then complete verification before your first deposit so the withdrawal limits and bonus tasks are already unlocked when the funds land.
Frequently asked questions
Is KYC mandatory on BingX?
Effectively yes. Since mid-2024 an unverified BingX account cannot deposit or trade; it can only withdraw existing balances up to 20,000 USDT per 24 hours. You need Advanced KYC to use the exchange.
How long does BingX KYC take?
Automated review usually finishes in 2 to 10 minutes. Submissions that fall to manual review, or that are made during high-volume periods, can take several hours and occasionally a day or two.
Which documents does BingX accept for KYC?
A government-issued passport, national ID card or, in most regions, a driving licence, plus a live selfie. The document must be in date and the name must match your account details.
Why did my BingX KYC fail?
The most common reasons are blurry or cropped photos, glare on the document, a mismatch between the name entered and the name on the ID, an expired document, or residence in a restricted country.
Can I use a VPN to pass BingX KYC from a restricted country?
No. The document shows your nationality and issuing country, and BingX will reject or later freeze accounts that turn out to be from blocked jurisdictions. It is not worth the risk to your funds.
Does BingX share my KYC data?
BingX states it stores verification data with its identity provider under its privacy policy and shares it only when required by regulators or law enforcement. Treat it like any other exchange: assume the data is retained.
